Project Self-Sufficiency will offer a variety of free parenting workshops for families of all shapes and sizes during autumn. Parents are invited to learn about the different stages of physical and emotional development during childhood, as well as techniques for positive discipline and improved communication. The sessions are free and open to the public; snacks and childcare will be provided. All classes take place from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Project Self-Sufficiency, which is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton. Pre-registration is required.
Expectant parents are invited to take a prenatal parenting class on Mondays, September 24th – December 10th.
Families with infants, toddlers are preschool-aged children will benefit from a course taught on Mondays, September 24th – December 10th.
Women in recovery from substance abuse are welcome to take a class on Mondays, September 24th – December 10th.
Parents of school-aged children are invited to attend a class on Tuesdays, September 25th – December 4th.
Parents of adolescent children are welcome to attend a course on Tuesdays, September 25th – October 30th or November 6th – December 11th.
A special class for fathers will be offered on Tuesdays, September 5th – October 30th or November 6th – December 11th.
