New School Supplies Needed

Project Self-Sufficiency is seeking donations of new school supplies for distribution to hundreds of children at the agency’s annual Back-to-School Fair in August.  New crayons, pencils, erasers, glue sticks, scissors, pens, spiral notebooks, and loose leaf paper would be greatly appreciated.  Monetary donations to be used towards the purchase of supplies would also be gratefully received.  The Back-to-School Fair introduces participants and their children to topics like keeping families healthy, avoiding bullying, and the dangers of lead poisoning.  Representatives from local social service organizations will be on site to discuss topics ranging from household safety to first aid.  Children will receive free haircuts and school supplies, create craft projects and play games.

Donations of new school supplies will be gratefully accepted at Project Self-Sufficiency, Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., through Wednesday, August 15th.   The agency is located at 127 Mill Street in Newton.  For information about making a donation, or to inquire about any of the programs and services available at Project Self-Sufficiency, call 973-940-3500.
